Production Maintenance Summer Intern position within the Frito-Lay Irving factory. My summer project was to identify possible issues with gearboxes and why they were being replaced so frequently. From there I worked with contractors to consolidate the number of oils and greases used on gearboxes and had them brought in from one supplier. I also created a schedule of the production lines and color coded each gearbox area with the type of oil or grease the mechanics would need for each motor in the line. Daily/weekly duties included preventative maintenance walks, routine line inspections, coordination of schedules, downtime reports, and a side safety project for bindicators and sanitation stations.
I acted as the liason between the CEAT Faculty and the students for the year, helping to build the continuing education and outreach lecture/lab series. I also helped with other important activities like the CEAT Career Fair, Engineering Week, the design of the grills for the Phillips 66 Plaza, and many other activities throughout the year.
I worked as a summer intern for the projects group. I worked on schedules, specification, code checks, and preliminary sizing. I also spent time converting many of our AutoCAD details into Revit details for future use.
