Studied economics, international relations and international law at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, the Technische Universität Dresden, the Université Sophia Antipolis (Nice, France) and the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (Boston, USA) and is an alumnus of the German National Academic Foundation, the DAAD Carlo Schmid Programme and the Fulbright Foundation.

CEN/TC 249 ist für die Normung im Bereich Kunststoffe zuständig und befasst sich mit Terminologie, Prüfverfahren, Spezifikationen, Klassifizierungen und Bezeichnungssystemen. Darüber hinaus befasst es sich mit Umweltaspekten und Verbindungssystemen und -techniken von Kunststoffen, kunststoffbasierten Werkstoffen, Halbzeugen und Produkten, nämlich Thermoplasten, Duroplasten, abbaubaren Kunststoffen, biobasierten Polymeren, thermoplastischen Elastomeren, Verbundwerkstoffen, Verstärkungsprodukten für Kunststoffe und Recyclaten.
Im Fachausschuss NA054-03-03 werden alle kreislaufrelevanten Standardisierungsprojekte für Kunststoffe bearbeitet. Das 35-köpfige Fachgremium begleitet europäische und internationale Normungsvorhaben und entsendet entsprechende Experten.
