- Responsible for communications within the club and with the Canadian Naginata Federation, including overseeing the club email, sending and compiling grading, registration, and order forms for events, and creating weekly club newsletters - Maintain good standing with the Canadian Naginata Federation and liaise with the Students' Society of McGill
- Residential activity manager located at Toronto Metropolitan University with groups of ESL students staying for 2-3 weeks at a time from all over the world, such as Italy, Argentina, Brazil, and Russia. - Plan, organize and implement a range of activities and excursions suitable for students, including booking tickets, transportation, meals, and assigning staff. - Regularly meet with Group Leaders to ensure they have all relevant information regarding their activities, and ensure requests or feedback are addressed promptly. - Create & manage weekly staff schedules and activity/excursion itineraries. - Hold daily activity staff briefings and monitor their performance and conduct for feedback. - Respond to emergencies at any time. - Monitor outgoing expenditure and ensure all expenses are within budget. - Maintain proper levels of student discipline, safety and welfare.
- Teach English and Math to elementary and high school students, one-on-one - Experience with nine students (including international students), in-person and online, using strong communication skills to teach concepts in a way that is easy to understand - Assess student learning style and strengths and weaknesses to create personalized lesson plans, help with homework
- Residential Activity Leader at summer camp located on TMU campus for international students learning English - Worked with students from around the world such as Brazil, Italy, Ukraine, and Japan - Led excursions to local tourist sites using public transportation, managing groups of up to 85 students at a 1:25 staff to student ratio - Acted as tour guide and talked about the history of each area - Led workshops, activities, and events on campus such as karaoke, disco, arts and crafts night, and team-building games - Built relationships with the students by getting to know them personally and sharing each other’s cultures - Assisted with admin work in the office such as creating attendance lists, creating language certificates and itineraries, organizing, and other tasks as needed
