Having come up with the idea of a Luxembourgish commercial Internet exchange, Claude Demuth has participated actively in the creation of LU-CIX and holds, since the creation of LU-CIX Management G.I.E. in 2009, the position as CEO. Until February 2016 his commitment was based on a volunteer basis but since March 2016 he is an employee of LU-CIX GIE and a “full-time” CEO. In July 2020, the board of directors of LU-CIX ASBL elected him also as Chairman of LU-CIX ASBL, a not-for-profit membership-based association. Between December 2013 and February 2016 he was the Business Development Manager of LuxConnect which he joined as Senior Business Development Specialist in 2011 in order to develop the national and international Data Centre and dark fiber business of LuxConnect. Claude Demuth has worked for POST Luxembourg’s Telecommunications Division between 2005 and 2011. As a telecommunication pre-sales engineer for the Internet, IP and Ethernet network services, he was in charge of numerous projects in the financial and ICT sectors. He was also responsible for the promotion and development of POST Luxembourg’s international fiber backbone. Before joining the POST team, he gained a 10 years’ experience as a team leader responsible for the telecommunication and security departments at CETREL, where he was also in charge of the business line “Internet, Managed ICT and Security Services”. Luxembourgish born, graduated at the University Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg), he likes promoting Luxembourg as a great place to live and to do business.
LU-CIX ASBL, the LUxembourg Internet eXchange, was founded in 2009 based on a not-for-profit membership association with an open and neutral philosophy. Its aim is to develop and support the Internet and data center ecosystem in Luxembourg by providing the national peering infrastructure and by promoting the national and European ICT community. LU-CIX brings a major contribution to the Luxembourg Internet community by organising its leading industry event, the Luxembourg Internet Days, which takes place every year and attracts over a thousand industry experts and decision makers from all around the globe. LU-CIX also runs the datacenters-in-europe.com platform, which gathers the Luxembourg data center and Internet related players to promote Luxembourg as the best place for a data center and ICT business in the heart of Europe. LU-CIX GIE was also launched in 2009 to operate the Internet eXchange infrastructure. In 2021, the Luxembourgish State, together with LU-CIX GIE, launched MyConnectivity G.I.E. to support the access to high performance connectivity for all (private households and businesses) in the context of the 5G and ultra-high-speed national strategies.
Luxembourg Internet Days 2021 - From November 16 to November 18 The Luxembourg Internet Days 2021 will be held “the new normal” way, a Digital Way! Based on the same highly professional online event platform (Swapcard) as in 2020, the Luxembourg Internet Days 2021 will offer all the features of a high-quality live event… as though you were there in person! Network Security & Cloud Security will once again catalyse our attention with technical and pragmatic discussions throughout the three days (16-18 Nov) to help you stay on top of evolving threats and current trends, and help identify the most appropriate solutions to overcome the challenges you are facing. The full day of November 18 will be dedicated to the specific challenges the Finance & Insurance sectors face securing their Internet access, deploying compliant Cloud services, etc. Experts will come to share interactively with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, DPO and decision makers from all sectors (16 & 17 Nov) and from Finance & Insurance sectors (Nov. 18). 2021 is no exception – when it comes to the Internet and the Cloud, cybersecurity is still the number one topic.
