In 2020 I co-founded a rewilding campaign. I created the visual identity, designed the website working directly with the developer, and created all the visuals for campaigns on several social platforms. I also did a lot of the strategic thinking behind the campaign itself. The design of this campaign was totally essential to its DNA. The co-founders were all seasoned climate campaigners, who felt there was a space for a joy in this space. So we created a campaign that was delightful, mischievous and full of joy, inviting the largest landowners in the UK to rewild their land for the good of all, stepping up and fulfilling their traditional role as stewards. The whole look and feel of the campaign, the logos, colours and tone of voice was very intentionally aimed at creating a impish, childish feeling, whilst at the same time, the imagery used called to mind knights and mythology, speaking of glory, valour and chivalry. We created, through visuals and tone of voice, a non-threatening campaign which invited people to participate and managed to side-step the identity politics which confuses and embitters people with traditional climate campaigns. This visual identity also extended into a real-world campaign at Buckingham palace, which got press coverage in every major UK news outlet and many others around the world. I approached this visual campaign from a very deep place, really imagining the beauty, glory and silliness we wanted to see in the world and trying to capture its essence. I'm not really capable of doing things any other way. Today, though I've stepped back, the campaign is still going strong, with Chris Packham, Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Kate Humble as its public face. It has full funding and is making change. I'm very proud of it.
