And I kept thinking, someone needs to fix this. Eventually I realised that someone was me. I founded Empthrive because I believe the world of work can be more equitable, more human, and more honest about what professionals actually need to succeed. Not just a promotion framework or a learning course but genuine support, real mentorship, and guidance that treats people as human beings. That's what was missing. That's what we're building.     Seeing the gaps. Building the bridges. I didn’t set out to become a public policy advocate, I stumbled into it. Unpaid, independent, and driven by a simple truth: the systems meant to support Ireland’s start-up landscape aren’t robustly built for how real people live and work. I uncovered gaps that weren’t just inconvenient, they appeared unfair, outdated, or in some cases, potential compliance risks. This quickly turned into something bigger: a mission to challenge structural flaws that quietly hold back founders, directors, and changemakers. Over the past year, I’ve taken on structural blind spots in public policy, not as an insider, but as someone willing to ask the hard questions and stay with the problem, from detection to resolution. Whether it’s a company law that potentially conflicts with data rights or a scheme that appears to impact MDs. I’ve been working across departments, stakeholders, and regulators to push for policy change. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐨: I spot gaps early, the kind others don’t see. I push for solutions that are grounded, human-centric, legally and structurally sound. I work with complexity, not around it. This is systems thinking with boots on the ground, and it’s where my superpowers shine. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬: • Highlighting potential compliance risks in the Companies Act 2014 with GDPR. This work began in 09/24 and has moved through key stages & stakeholders, incl. the CRO, DPC, CLRG, and Minister of Trade. It is now with the EU Parliament & EU Commission. • Uncovering flaws in the STEA scheme for LTD directors. Engaged with the DSP teams and the Office of the Minister for Social Protection to share findings on policy issues and misalignment that blocks access to specific groups. • Member of the LEO Women’s Network What I do isn’t advocacy for the sake of it.
