BA (Hons) Degree, Business, Enterprise & Leadership & Management at Athlone Institute of Technology. I am passionate about rural Ireland - its industry , education its people and its renewal. Love working with SMEs, science community and voluntary sector - focused on helping communities to help themselves - creating jobs, enterprise and new opportunities throughout the country. Presently working with IBEC Midlands companies, volunteers in town and village renewal, tidy towns, angling tourism and the food tourism sectors.
Using a wealth of experience built up over nearly 35 years in voluntary community work, I am helping groups and communities in rural Ireland to help themselves - passing on a deep knowledge of rural funding, development and enterprise creation, festival and event management - and in a user-friendly way. I have been that solider for 30 years - now I will help others to achieve success.
I am a regional correspondent covering the Midlands region - which includes Longford, Westmeath, Laois, Offaly, and parts of Kildare and Roscommon - working closely with employers , enterprise & education in the region
I am responsible for the co-ordination of the group's medium to long term planning on public infrastructure and community projects . In the period 2010 to 2014 I worked on a 300,000 Euro river bank development in Ballyleague in a voluntary capacity - liaising with various partners. I am working in a voluntary capacity with angling tourism interests on new facilities for the region.
Creating a public profile for all that is good in the village of Ballyleague, Lanesborough and surrounding areas - and there's a lot!!!
