County Cork, Ireland
I currently work with Alter Domus Ireland in the Cork office as a Senior Fund Officer in the private equity group, providing accounting and admin services to a diverse portfolio of companies situated in Luxembourg and following Lux GAAP and IFRS. This mixture allows me to put into practice the skills and knowledge gained as an ACCA member. I have taken on the role of events coordinator for the PE group (roughly 30 people), where I organise quarterly events set to the annual budget. Additionally, I have taken part in the automation training provided by Alter Domus and have achieved status of Automation Champion whereby I can put forward and implement ideas to the automation team to turn manual processes into automated processes for the company. Previously, I spent 4 years working with KPMG Luxembourg, and had worked my way up to Senior Auditor within the Private Equity group. I started there as part of a traineeship during my Erasmus year from Queen's University Belfast where I studied Accountancy with French. On completion of the Bachelor's degree with a high 2:1, I returned to KPMG Luxembourg and spent the remaining 3 years working through the ranks moving from the audit banking industry, and into international funds and finally private equity. I am a Scouter in 18/19th Fermoy Scouts, with scouts aged 12-15. Before my return to Ireland, I was a Scout Leader within the Telstar Luxembourg group (British Scouting Overseas under the FNEL Scouts and Guides guidance) where I acted as the badge coordinator, putting together a program with activities in order for the group (30 kids aged 10-14) to achieve the badge requirements. Since returning to Ireland and due to the COVID restrictions, I joined the local GAA club and started to help to train the U8/U10 camogie team, and helped with the u16 and minor camogie team in 2021.
Worked for 10 months in both banking and funds audit departments.
A position under supervisor, where I was left in charge of training younger staff members within the hospitality sector. Occasionally, I was acting supervisor, in charge of running a busy restaurant floor.
