Legal Counsel for Trading & Supply (focusing on Gas, Power and Environmental Products)
I led a team of 8 legal professionals in Shell's newest Legal department, i.e. Legal Services Global Operations which was formed in 2018 to revolutionise the way legal services are delivered in Shell. Amongst others, LSGO provides cross department/ country services and aims to leverage on the digitalization and use of data to unlock efficiencies. My accountabilities in this role include the development of my team members, setting team objectives in light of LSGO's operating model , building strong collaborations with stakeholders and ensuring that the department's goals are met. Apart from these accountabilities, I continue to support Shell's trading and supply business.
Provide legal support to Shell's Trading and Supply department,which has an integrated global portfolio of crude oil, refined products, chemical feed-stocks, pipeline natural gas, liquified natural gas (LNG) ,electrical power and environmental products (eg carbon emissions allowances/ credits). The key hubs for this business is in US, UK, Netherlands, Singapore, Dubai and Bahamas. My accountabilities include: Drafting, reviewing and advising on legal risks for various categories of contractual documentation entered into by the T&S business, providing legal support for the Downstream LNG (DLNG) business including drafting, reviewing and advising on legal risks for DLNG sale and purchase contracts,LNG bunkering services and other agreements in support of DLNG activities in Asia Pacific.

Provide legal advice and compliance support to the Treasury and Capital Markets, Global Investment Banking, Islamic banking and Corporate and Institutional Banking departments of HSBC Advise on corporate, commercial and banking matters such as cross border business initiatives, financing structures, new banking products and initiatives such as derivatives, structured investment products, outsourcing and others Ensure and monitor compliance of the departments with HSBC’s internal policies and external laws and legislation and manage regulatory risks
