Hello, I am Yi Jing, currently a penultimate at the National University of Singapore (NUS), pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (Real Estate). Prior to my university journey, I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a diploma, majoring in International Business & Entrepreneurship. My course of study gave me valuable knowledge in global trade, international business operations, and entrepreneurship, equipping me with relevant skills for starting and managing businesses. After graduating from polytechnic, I took on a Gap-Year and worked full-time in one of the top Facilities Services Management Company in the world - ISS Facility Services Singapore. I took on the role of a Procurement & Admin Executive, supporting one of the biggest global accounts - Rolls-Royce. This was an exciting experience for me as the Facilities Management Industry is so different from my diploma in Business, but that did not stop me from being curious, open-minded & grateful in expanding my knowledge & skillsets in a different and foreign field. At NUS, I am actively involved in student leadership and community engagement. As Vice President (Internals) of the Building Estate & Management Society (BEMS), I oversee the Welfare and Publicity departments, working to enhance student engagement and visibility through creative initiatives and events. Specialties: Proficient in Microsoft Office, ESKER system, Coupa Software, SAP; interpersonal skills; working independently; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. I am passionate about exploring opportunities in real estate, finance, and business. I look forward to applying my skills and leadership experiences to gain further industry insights through internships and collaborations.
As Vice President (Internals) of BEMS, I oversee the Welfare and Publicity departments, driving initiatives that strengthen student engagement, foster a supportive community, and enhance the society’s visibility. Key contributions: • Spearheaded improvements to exam welfare packs to better meet students’ needs. • Led publicity efforts to increase awareness of BEMS, with a focus on growing our digital presence. • Collaborated closely with the Main Committee to ensure alignment between internal operations and BEMS’ broader vision. This role has deepened my leadership capabilities, event planning experience, and ability to manage cross-functional teams within a student-led organization.
As part of the Publicity team, I contributed to BEMS’ marketing and branding efforts by supporting the design, planning, and execution of digital content across platforms such as Instagram and Telegram. I also worked closely with other departments to ensure consistent and engaging promotion of events and initiatives. Key contributions: • Created visually engaging publicity materials to support key events, including welfare distributions and recruitment drives. • Helped plan and execute content strategies that strengthened BEMS’ presence among students. • Collaborated cross-functionally to align messaging and maximize student engagement. • Spearheaded the annual merchandise sales and designed the t-shirts for the Built Environment Majors (IPM, PFM & RE). We generated a profit from the merchandise and successfully sold out majority of the t-shirts. This experience equipped me with foundational skills in digital marketing, branding, and content creation within a student organization setting.
