RNANOLAB advances research on thermoplastic materials and composites for 3D printing, focusing on engineering polymers and fiber-reinforced filaments. Contributions include optimizing extrusion parameters and cooling systems to enhance filament quality and exploring smart materials for sensor integration in FDM applications. Collaboration with academic and industry partners drives sustainable and functional material development. Holds an MSc in Polymer & Composites Materials Engineering and a BSc in Materials Science from the University of Patras. Passionate about innovation in additive manufacturing, combining technical expertise in polymer extrusion with a commitment to sustainable engineering practices.
Conducting advanced research on thermoplastic materials and composites for 3D printing applications. Specializing in the compounding and extrusion of engineering polymers (PA6.66, PA12, ABS, HIPPS) and fiber-reinforced filaments using a twin-screw extruder. Key projects include: • Optimization of extrusion parameters and cooling systems (water bath & air cooling) for enhanced filament quality and process stability. • Investigation of smart filaments for embedded sensor integration in FDM applications, including conductive materials for airflow sensing. Collaborating with academic and industry partners in Athens on-site, with a focus on innovation in sustainable and functional additive manufacturing materials.
