In this role I've been able to redevelop the forecast for the number of building consents submitted into the Christchurch City Council. This has been completed within an incredibly volatile post-earthquake construction environment. The purpose of developing this forecast is to ensure the council has enough staff to facilitate building work within the statutory time-frames. This has been achieved through creating a comprehensive resourcing model which breaks down the consent volumes into skills required, taking into account churn, training, utilisation, development programmes, recruitment planning, and incorporating any production improvements.
