Small Business and PC / Network Technician since 1995. Recently completed upgrading skills at Sir Sandford Fleming's College in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Graduating in June 2012, I have continued to work independently as a PC / Network Technician and Consultant in a personal, small business and private practice environment. I have now expanded and updated my knowledge and experience in computer hardware and Operating Systems and added Networking and Security to my list of credentials. Currently certified as a CompTIA A+ Technician. I am trained and ready to write certifications in; CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco's CCNA and Microsoft's Certified IT Professional (MCITP) requiring only practical experience in these areas for full certification. I received Individual certificates in each of Cisco's Network Academy consisting of four modules for it's CCNA program as well as letters of accomplishment from the CEO. These Included Network Fundamentals, Routing Protocols and Concepts, LAN Switching & Wireless and Accessing the WAN. I am only short one Credit and my final project / Intern Semester and I will complete my degree as a Technologist and be able to continue working towards obtaining my Bachelor's of Engineering or Computer Sciences. I also possess new and upgraded soft skills in such non-technical areas including Teamwork, Project Management and field related Law and Ethics. .
Consultant for home e-juice Flavouring and Production. Controlled Environment Setup and Maintenance, Home Laboratory Setup and Maintenance, Essential Oils Extraction Setup and Maintenance Technician, SMART Home Automation and Security Consulting, Design, Sub Contracting and Maintenance. Also available for Industrial ventures until my schedule is full. I am limited to only being active about 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday but I am typically available for on-call emergencies on a 24/7 Contracted basis and use professional third parties for all sub-contracting work outside of Technology and Maintenance Issues. I am on Site every day during Construction, Setup and Installation of the new environment. (Lab, Climate Control Room, SMART home Refurbish.)
Update and maintain Operating System and LAN hardware and software. Perform routine backups, Troubleshoot issues or complaints, Liaise between Warranty and Technical Support for third party hardware, software and services. Perform new equipment and software installs as well as training and support for new technologies added to the Computer / Network environment. Research and Consult on New Technologies and equipment. Maintain security, equipment auditing, logs and network performance analysis on Local Area Networks. Set up and maintain cloud and offsite backup and storage solutions.
IT Maintaintenace and Consulting, including Computer system and LAN troubleshooting, maintenance, hardware and software upgrades and private Instruction services for a small clientele in various private practices in the Durham Region and surrounding area on a dedicated but part time basis. In March 2012 I moved from Peterborough to Hamilton Ontario where I have since continued to gain new clients and continue to offer services on a private contract basis. Regular PC and Network maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis, troubleshooting hardware and software issues as required, maintain backup's, install OS and third party driver and software updates as required, document hardware changes and incident / response reports as well as recommend hardware upgrades or system replacements as required. Liais between management and 3rd party vendors and O.E.M's for product acquisition, warranty, support issues, etc. Document and train staff or clients on new software installations or new technology implementations as required.
