As Vice President of Product Development at RouteSmart, a leader in vehicle route optimization software technology, I oversee the design and implementation of all our desktop and web-based routing services. I manage the entire development team and coordinate their efforts to achieve these goals. I pride myself of my ability to design and build complex systems, to analyze problems and deconstruct work into manageable tasks, and then utilize my team in the most efficient ways to create and maintain our various routing products. The software I create and maintain services our entire client base, and therefore I maintain proficiency across multiple industries, including postal, sanitation, meter reading, and newspaper delivery. In my professional role, I am organized and focused, and above all, I work tirelessly to build the best products possible for our clients. I firmly believe that application development is an iterative process, and while we may reach certain product milestones, we are always strategizing on how to improve our products. I take a forthright approach to everything I do, and I have developed a reputation as a strong leader who is both decisive and adept at assembling the ideal resources to achieve our product goals, always with an eye toward RouteSmart’s steady growth. My career has been influenced by an early interest in computers, specifically writing software, and an innate curiosity about how to create and improve code. In high school, I had the opportunity to take several programming classes, and choosing Computer Science as a college major was a natural choice. My team and I work diligently on the continued expansion of RouteSmart’s cloud-based product line, specifically the design and implementation of our Routing-as-a-Service (RaaS) web services. I served as the lead architect for these REST-based routing services. The creation of this secure and scalable system, which helps optimize the delivery of hundreds of thousands of packages weekly for the United States Postal Service, OnTrac, and many other clients, continues to be a great accomplishment for my team and our company as a whole.
In this role, my responsibilities expanded to include the supervision and coordination of product development across all RouteSmart systems. In addition, I was instrumental in the creation and deployment of RouteSmart’s first cloud-based system, RouteSmart Online.
