These days people can get all of the cold hard data from the little super computer in their pocket, what sets a sales professional apart is the ability to gently and knowledgeably help the client into the best possible option for them. Now you've earned their trust and now you have build a future.
I trained at the largest and busiest 24-hour Fitness in our district, which was the North Hollywood location with over 2,800 check-ins a day, I would maintain customer satisfaction at all times while accurately monitoring, recording and facilitating the membership acquisition on a daily basis. I would daily go through a numbers based analysis each day both during and from the previous day, month, and year 2 maintain growth both month-over-month, day over day and year over year. on the days that I was the only manager in the building I would oversee all aspects of the club, including but not limited to customer service as it pertains to the operation side of the gym and management on the fitness side which included maintaining a good flow of customers moving into the personal training aspect of the business as well as helping them maintain a solid sales base which for most of the personal training staff did not come innately with their skill sets.
On a daily basis I would set up times for promotional outings into the area including going two places like downtown LA near the Staples Center before and after sporting events and because we were also in after-hours Club I would go to some of the more popular nightclubs to promote a place where people could safely go and sober up will enjoying some entertainment. I would also be in charge of keeping the bar which included both alcoholic and non-alcoholic supplies at an acceptable level so that the night could move smoothly, I would hire and train the different staff that was needed whether it be hostess, server or customer service / security. I would manage the environment, which was probably the most important aspect of the business, maintaining a high level of integrity in the type of business that we were doing so that everybody can have fun without any issues arising that would affect our liquor license and our ability to stay open.
I make sure the customers are happy and well taken care of and handle any disputes that need to be managed during our business hours.
in the beginning I was everything, sales, marketing, customer service, and of course the labor. As I grew I was able to take on at my peak 13 employees and 5 subcontractors offering a range of services from small entry tile and/or hardwood to complete models of old or damaged houses or commercial buildings. I regularly pulled permits attended and disgust inspections, did final walkthroughs while doing 90% of the bidding. in the end I was able to sell my company both equipment and contracts to a friend of mine that started in the business the same time I did, due to some health restrictions I was unable to put in the time needed for this kind of endeavor.
