Led the Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory, Warehousing, Procurement and Packaging Manufacturing functions for the largest Southern Style vegetable and fruit canning company in the U.S. Total of 5 direct reports and 400 team members served. -Delivered best in class service to our customers through 99%+ case fill rate and 98.5%+ OTD. -Reduced both raw and finished inventory significantly by improved metrics and planning processes. -Delivered over $8M in savings over two years. -Restructured the entire transportation function and reduced transportation cost by 20% by insourcing fleet operations and freight procurement, improved TMS functionality and reduced LTL freight by 80%. -Drove significant efficiency in warehouse through WMS functionality development strategies, team productivity metrics, process improvement and revised labor incentive plan. -Improved packaging efficiencies by nearly 10% through improved planning process and tools which drastically reduced inventory, overtime and turnover. -Improved utilization of warehouse space and reduction of outsourced support and cost. -Drastically improved procurement processes through more aggressive vendor sourcing strategies and improved inventory planning tools and processes.
Led the Integrated Business Planning for the Supply Chain area. This included demand planning, supply planning and deployment areas for retail and food service categories. Also supported warehouse network planning, including 3pw program set up and negotiation as well as internal warehouse process, WMS functionality and layout.
Led the Supply Chain and Logistics teams for the largest cheese packer in the U.S.. This includes 120 team members across the functions of demand and supply planning, inventory management/deployment, transportation (includes fleet operations), DC operations, 3p warehouse relationship management, customer service and master data. Reported to the VP of Supply Chain, Procurement and IT. -Team has contributed $40mm in savings over 6 years in the role. -Team has reduced inventory DOH from 14 days to 11 days, reduced waste by 81% while maintaining case fill rate above 99% through SC strategies. -Led the creation of a robust S&OP process for the organization. -Built Demand Planning department to drive forecast value within organization. -Led the creation of an inventory optimization program that reduced overall inventory. -Developed network optimization program using network optimization software. -Led the implementation of a Transportation Management System delivering over $3mm in annual savings. -Developed inventory and spoils reduction program. -Developed third party warehouse network to provide regional service and supplemental capacity within the finished goods supply network. -Developed quantitative metric program to support and drive Supply Chain strategy. -Increased efficiency of internal transportation fleet by improving lane selection, improving performance and fuel efficiency. - Led the design effort on 4 greenfield warehouse projects as part of manufacturing expansion.
Responsible for the distribution, including all warehousing, vendor shipping, and store delivery, of a major retail grocery account with a footprint across 12 states. Direct responsibility of two major distribution centers and all transportation operations from vendor to DC and DC to stores.
