Sole responsibility for the delivery of the system upgrade projects at London Trams (LT) from feasibility through to tender formulation, design, construction and completion stages. Progress reporting to the senior management board including commercial, financial and any important project issues. Managing a team of five to ten members ranging from assistant managers, engineers, construction managers and contract personnel. Attending construction sites regularly to liaise with contractors on progress and any ongoing or new issues. Key successes: the completion of key projects to tight timescales and budget that were under close scrutiny as a result of recommendations from the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB). This required particularly effective stakeholder and contractor management to ensure that all requirements were met, approvals were provided in a timely manner and that there was minimal, if any, disruption to the operational network. Engineering background enabled a close working relationship with the LT Engineering division to jointly develop business requirements and better work practices between departments at a time when the business was restructuring and workloads were high.
