Throughout my academic and research journey, I developed a strong appreciation for the importance of clinical populations in driving progress and advancing research with real-world impact. This motivated me to pursue a career in medical communications and pharmaceutical marketing, where I could expand my skills and passions while contributing to the daily improvement of patients' quality of life. Account Executive | Havas Life Medicom | October 2022 – Present o Client management- Supporting in the day-to-day account handling and dealing with client enquiries as they arise via Outlook and In-House Systems. o Project management- Implementation of account activities, across a range of project types and therapy areas. I am currently working full-time at ARC Europe Ltd. a financial service company that working for clients to assist their customers in negotiating financial plans to get customers back on track with payment plans they have fallen behind on. With appropriate questioning and understanding of the customers situation. I handle and action their accounts appropriately to get the best outcome for both clients and customers. Research Project- 'Corticospinal and Peripheral Responses to Rapid Hypohydration and Rehydration.' Roles and Responsibilities: - Participant care and management, ensuring core temperature was at a stable level and participants welfare was maintained. - Blood capillary extraction, to assess plasma volume levels. - Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) techniques, paired and single pulse. To assess corticospinal excitability. - Peripheral nerve stimulation techniques.
During my time at St Mary's University, Twickenham I undertook a project for my Master's in Research with the support of my supervisor Dr Jamie Talent. I gained an array of valuable research skills, including: o Participant recruitment and management of volunteers when testing. o IBM SPSS Statistics software for statistical analysis. o Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) techniques, specifically single pulse TMS with double cone coil. o Creating configurations and collecting data sets through signal software. o Combining Isokinetic dynamometer and TMS techniques through signal software. o Electromyography o Conducted an extensive literature review covering the history of TMS, voluntary muscle activation, techniques for assessing neuromuscular function, motor control of eccentric actions and corticospinal excitability across different muscles. o Presenting my project via written communication and presented it to an academic audience through a zoom meeting. o Proof-checking my work for grammatical and editorial errors. These skills have provided me with a strong foundation to grow as a researcher and I am hopeful to gain further experience in the near future.
