As an early academic, my research interests involve Gender Studies, Political and Activist Literature, Critical Theory, and Race Studies. My experience as a tutor and instructor has allowed for me to appeal to student’s needs whilst instructing them on English Composition, analysis, and rhetoric, interacting with fellow colleagues regarding teaching practices and philosophies, grading assignments, facilitating class discussions, and presenting at academic conferences. In addition, my added experience as both a managing and executive editor and the courses I have taken in CSULB’s Technical Writing Program (including Proposal Writing; Writing in Science, Social Science, and Technology; and Manuel Writing) has allowed me to delve into various forms of editing and publishing and has furthered my interest and experience in the technical sector.
Assisting attorneys in the process of eviction proceedings in addition to drafting letters and legal notices. Prepared demand letters for tenants and opposing counsel. Required knowledge of the eviction process, affordable housing guidelines, Fair Housing laws and procedures, and advised clients on the same. Also required thorough and precise data entry when preparing cases, reviewing client case documents, and preparing cases for unlawful detainer.
Hired and trained a team of managing editors, editors, and readers, thus increasing journal involvement in CSULB’s English Dept. scholarly journal: Watermark. Created various Call for Papers and witnessed a growth in submission rates. Organizing student submissions, collaborating with various layout designers and cover artists, as well as constructing the journal’s layout.
Increased student journal submission rates through my research and development in networked embedded systems including but not limited to preparing and editing scientific documents; set weekly meetings with graduate students and collaborated with students to edit and revise scientific documents. Worked via contract basis.
