About

As a child, adult, and forensic psychiatrist at the Defense Health Agency (DHA), I provide comprehensive mental health care to military personnel, veterans, and their families. I am board-certified in psychiatry, child psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. I have over twenty-five years of experience in this role, and I am looking to expand my skill set to correctional psychiatry in a jail and prison setting. I am passionate about advancing the field of forensic psychiatry for underserved populations while delivering integrated, responsive, and innovative health services to the incarcerated community. I have extensive forensic psychiatrist experience. I have completed over a thousand evaluations answering a wide variety of forensic questions: pretrial evaluations; competency assessments, psychological autopsies; suicide investigations; assessments for violent and sexual recidivism; disability, fitness for duty, security clearances; medical decision-making, guardianship, conservatorship; and best-interest evaluations for child custody. Further, I participated at the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime as an invited member for case consultations with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. I completed my Doctor of Medicine degree at Uniformed Services University, where I also received specialized training in military and operational medicine. My core competencies include diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and expert testimony in various domains of forensic psychiatry, such as criminal responsibility, competency, civil commitment, disability, and malpractice. I am licensed in both Tennessee and Kentucky.
