During my time at Crannmed various projects and tasks have been successfully completed. I had many responsibilities during my 8 months as an Engineering Intern. •Completed a detailed process study on the manufacturing of microspheres using micro fluidics technology, this process study was completed in conjunction with my ATU deliverables. •Completed a Major 5s project with CrannMed, the project consisted of using the 5s principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardise and sustain). Implementation of the 5s principles in the CrannMed lab improved safety , cleanliness of the lab and productivity. Completed the project in Conjunction with ATU for my academic deliverables. •Co ordinated deliveries of major equipment in the lab such as Ovens and Lyophilisation equipment, received the equipment in house, moved and installed equipment successfully in the lab with minimal supervision. •Undertook IQs + OQs of critical to process equipment in the particles area, this consisted of equipment specs, safety sheets , PM logs & Procedures , Calibration of equipment and finally Installation + Operational functions. •Overseen the full development of a class 8 clean room in house from start to finish. The clean room was successfully installed and and passed all particle counts to within spec. •Travelled to many facilities around Ireland for learning and research purposes such as Steris Tullamore + Westport and Technological University Dublin. •Had the Opportunity to witness CrannMeds first animal trials and furthermore throughout the year. •Involved in the full training procedure for the class 8 clean room This has been a great experience and I have learned a lot being part of such an innovative team.
