Working within Projects Delivery to manage the civil engineering works to NIE Networks distribution and transmission substations. Managing the principle contractors appointed through our framework on an ongoing basis to carry out works throughout Northern Ireland. Works include substation new builds, substation refurbishments, transformer bunds, switch house buildings etc. I also provide civil engineering guidance to all other departments within NIE Networks on the civil engineering aspects for their electrical equipment.
Co-ordinating large scale generation connections from date of application to energisation of the site. Works include issuing connection offers, providing detailed updates to developers, co-ordinating pre-construction works, commercial management of projects and working along with the construction division to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
My daily roles and responsibilities include overseeing and programming of day to day works on site. These include co-ordinating sub-contractors, ensuring there is no conflict between design and construct-ability, quality assurance and ensuring that a high level of health and safety is maintained at all times.
