What does your name mean? Your name is your reputation, identity, and the essence of who you are. My name means “Christ-bearer” and that is who I am. Christian. I follow Jesus and believe every word in the Bible is true. I think about it constantly. His word sustains me, corrects me, and strengthens me. I’ve known Jesus since I was 7 and have walked with him daily since then. He’s my best friend, my counselor, and my savior. It’s my honor to be called into His ministry, and it is my mission to help everyone know Him. Husband. I have 17 years of marriage experience with my loving and amazing wife. I am distinguished in remembering special occasions, giving foot rubs, putting the toilet seat down, and loving unconditionally; however, I am still a novice in knowing when to stop arguing, preparing any food for myself, and finding things without asking for help. Thankfully, my wife’s strengths compensate for my failures, and God knew what he was doing when he brought us together. Raising children. I could brag about my kids all day. I could puff my chest and pretend that their excellence had something to do with deliberate leadership and discipline that my wife and I have provided. I could talk for hours about the lessons that parenting teaches you that cannot be learned in any rigorous training program or academic university. The reality is that my children are a gift of God and prove to me above all else that he is gracious to give me something far better than I deserve. Intelligent. It seems weird to brag about this one—so I won’t’—but here it is, nevertheless. Studious. I love learning new skills. As a pastor, you must be somewhat of a generalist, so things like budgets, schedules, planning events, designing websites, and editing videos just become part of your tool belt. Teaching. I enjoy teaching to impart knowledge, but also to help others understand the relevance of the information, hence my background in Philosophy/Psychology. Organized. It’s fun to build a system that make sense of where things belong and to give each thing a place as its “home.” Patient Advocate. Fighting for patient rights is what I do every day. I’ll do everything in my power to ensure that everyone has an amazing, positive experience as a patient. Honest. Integrity matters! From me you’ll always get the Truth in love. Eager. As a leader, it is important to be ready for action. The difference between opportunity and outcome is initiative. Reliable. In a day where dependability is scarce and expendability is prevalent, I choose to let my “yes” be yes and my “no” be no.
