I am a network engineer, and technology enthusiast. I have spent the last 20 years working in data center environments from the size and complexity of the Internet Service Provider (ISP), to smaller private businesses network closets. I have worked in large multibillion dollar corporations, interfacing with multiple departments, and a variety of vendors, to small entrepreneurial endeavors, where every penny counts. My experience ranges from internal networking and desktop support, to Tier1 circuit provider support for interconnected locations across the globe. I am interested in finding a position that allows me to grow in knowledge and experience, and associate with great minds in a collaborative environment, to achieve success on every measurable professional level, while cultivating a new family like community of like minded people.
I have been working on Cisco switches, routers, and ASAs, Sonic Walls and Palo Alto firewalls, and I have been managing the monitoring of network gear and servers using Nagios management software.
F5 - LTM/GTM virtual/physical appliances and Foundry Server Iron (SLB). Performed migrations of Cisco CSS to Cisco ACE platform to F5-LTM load balancing platform. Migrations include moving the content rules, groups, services, DQL redirections, and keepalives of Cisco CSS configurations to F5-LTM equivalent parameters like virtual servers, pools, nodes, SNAT/Automap, monitors, iRules and profiles. Implemented F5-GTM global load balancing between data centers, setup WIDE-IPs and Big-IP datacenter wide parameters to load balance and failover sites. Worked on F5-Viprion appliances (C2400 series) to virtualize or convert physical LTMs as a virtual guest or vCMP. Provisioned, configured and deployed vCMPs in a multi-blade Viprion system trunked to external switches. Automated the F5 configuration backups with the customized bash script to save the UCS file generated and scheduled nightly via the system cron job. Familiar with iApp as a tool to easily deploy an F5 load balanced application. Proficient in Cisco firewall technology (PIX/ASA), code flash upgrades, maintenance and support. Build out of security perimeter networks and site-to-site VPNs for extranet clients. Adept in installation and maintenance of the security perimeter network, DMZ and extranet sites for site-to-site VPN business partners and SSL-VPN remote clients. Knowledgable of various platforms and devices used in networking (Cisco/Juniper/ Brocade) in a converged data, voice, and storage network.
