With more than 20 years’ experience in the energy sector I’m passionate to lead Siemens Energy Germany through this transformation as Managing Director Germany. As a father and manager, I want to ensure that my daughters grow up in a world that offers them the same or better opportunities than I had. Coming from a working-class family, I initially aimed to pursue a craft profession like my father. However, I quickly learned that with openness, curiosity, diligence, and courage, the world offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. Various years abroad in North & South America, UK and the Middle East shaped me as a person and made me realize that diversity and openness are the foundations of success, both privately and socially. Three elements always help me to adjust my compass: 1. Technology - I have always been fascinated by technology and the idea of using something new that is better and more efficient than the old. From early experiments to modern innovations, I believe that technological advancements can improve the world, especially by transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Privately, I have made significant strides in the energy transition, such as using heat pumps and solar energy. 2. People - Openness and diversity are crucial in dealing with people. I am inspired by my daughter's openness towards people of different cultures and social backgrounds. This openness and diversity are the foundations of our private and societal wealth. 3. Environment - Environmental protection and sustainability are central themes for me. I consciously think about resource use and strive to reduce my carbon footprint. This includes energy-saving measures, using solar energy, and avoiding unnecessary travel. My personal CO2 reduction commitment comes with my passion for cycling. In a professional context, I advocate for climate neutrality and sustainable products.
