I have a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Media and Cultural Studies (with additional majors in English and French), and am currently working at my alma mater as the Public Relations Officer for the Pietermaritzburg Campus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal. My experience at UKZN has included running an alumni association for its agricultural disciplines, working as a journalist for the College of Agriculture, Engineering, and Science, and assisting with occasional conferences, including the 2016 Department of Science and Technology and National Research Foundation Global Change Conference, hosted by UKZN. I have organised six successful Ukulinga Howard Davis Memorial Symposia (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2024), and assisted as the Registration Manager for the National Wetlands Indaba 2017.
Currently writing news articles based on research, events, awards etc. in UKZN's College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science.
Managing an alumnus association for graduates of the University of KwaZulu-Natal's School of Agricultural, Earth and Environmental Sciences (and its antecedent institutions). This involves maintaining alumnus databases, organising annual Networking Functions, assisting with University events, compiling and releasing regular newsletters, networking with agribusiness, arranging graduate placements and more.
Undertook small, paid freelance graphic design projects for friends and acquaintances, including wedding invitations, campaign logos, event posters etc.
As a student, I au paired for two families with two children in each. This involved daily collections from school, assistance with homework, driving to and from sports fixtures, and assistance with remedial activities.
I worked as an intern on scripting for video interviews and announcements, filming of said interviews and announcements, compilation of a regular newsletter, and youth leadership.
