University Place, Washington, United States
I am a recently graduated student at the University of Washington with a B.S General Biology. I would like to express my interest in applying for a job position related to medicine/healthcare, clinical research lab, biological lab, biotechnology, and/or administration. As someone who wants to gain new hands-on experience and seek out many different career-related opportunities, then any position suits my ideal preference as I can apply these experiences towards my career goal of going into medicine/healthcare. Throughout my experience, I had done volunteer work for the school and for the community for the past couple of years. Some entry level volunteering work that I’ve done so far are Big Brother Big Sister of America, high school Key Club events such as Gift Wrapping for the Salvation Army and as a tour guide for the Haunted Trail. Some clinical experiences that I gained was from volunteering at Multicare Allenmore Hospital as a clinic screener where I screened incoming patients to test for positive Covid-19. Beside my volunteering experience, I gained some office experience as a student assistant back in my high school. I was TA for the school office and my responsibilities are administrative tasks such as making phone calls, organizing paper works, handing out passes to students and guiding students and visitors around the building. These experiences help me to express and elevate my current skill set in communication and collaboration as these skills are beneficial towards my career. It also benefits myself in gaining new understanding along the way and demonstrating myself being committed to helping out the community. Alongside those past experiences, I gained new internship experiences at a Biotech company, Unigen. As a first-time intern, this internship not only applies towards my interest, but it demonstrates how I can work independently towards organizing and prioritize multiple tasks and communicate with other interns and staff working on the project for the company. In addition, it also taught me how to adapt to doing repeated tasks, problem-solving skills, and quickly learning new skill sets through observation. Overall, my experience has taught me how to effectively communicate and collaborate with the team, adapting new responsibilities, time management, and heightening skills in problem-solving. These experiences helped me to perfect my current skills even further and I wanted to use the skill that I gained and apply it to any positions of my interest available and make great contributions to the team.
