Executive Assistant to the Chief People & AI Transformation Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Zapier (YC S12). I'm an expert generalist with 15+ years across technical support, communications, marketing, and business development, all of which I bring to the systems, processes, and relationships that help executives move fast and focus on what matters. I do my best work making the complex simple: streamlining operations, managing high-stakes projects, and building the connective tissue that keeps teams aligned. Beyond the day-to-day, I co-founded Zapier's BIPOC ERG and chaired it in 2023-24. I've volunteered with Startup Canada, TEDx, and YWCA Metro Vancouver, and mentored emerging leaders through YWiB SFU. Former pop-rock drummer. Amateur improv performer, outdoor enthusiast, and mom of three. Let's connect if you care about leadership, inclusion, or building systems that scale. 🔗 christinaromein.com | ENFP | Input · Individualization · Empathy · Strategic · Includer

Buffer makes it incredibly simple for individuals, businesses and publishers to drive traffic, increase fan engagement and save time on social media. The company started in 2010, and today, is the tool that more than 3 million amazing customers use to easily manage their social media presence. As a team member of Buffer's Happiness team, I had the privilege of building relationships with existing and potential customers from all over the world by solving technical and non-technical issues, sharing best case practices, and giving virtual high fives. Most interactions were through high volume email and mobile messages, and occasionally through social media and telephone calls. I received an overall customer satisfaction rating (CSAT) of 97%, achieved through a focus on personalization, empathetic listening, and anticipating future needs. I helped to improve the customer experience by reporting trends, feedback, suggestions and bugs to the engineering and product team, as well as contribute items for the internal and external Knowledge Bases. VentureLabs® is a technology business accelerator program delivered by Simon Fraser University's Innovation Office in partnership with the British Columbia Innovation Council (BCIC), and university partners including Ryerson University, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, University of Victoria, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Emily Carr University of Art + Design. We worked with leading technology entrepreneurs to support their growth to become world-class, sustainable and scalable companies. Immediately after wrapping up my 4-month marketing and communications internship, I was hired as a Community Manager (Communications & Events Consultant) to continue working with VentureLabs to help share our startup community's success stories. I developed and executed a marketing and communications plan that was focused on content marketing, social media, and events to strengthen brand awareness. My first core project was to redevelop the organization's website and manage our communication channels (social media, newsletters and website). My second project was to create customer personas by interviewing existing and potential clients in order to understand our core audience for programs and marketing messages. www.venturelabs.ca
Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 120 countries around the world in 2014. Events are 54-hour long events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and startup enthusiasts alike come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups! As the sponsorship lead, I raised over $25,000 to support the event, in addition to over $16,000 in prizes to help further our teams' startup success. Our sponsors and partners included Zenefits, MailChimp, Todoist, Unbounce, Zapier, Jukebox, PressReader, and more. I also recruited and managed 20 amazing volunteers by organizing tasks, creating their schedule, while making sure they were having opportunities to learn. www.up.co/communities/canada/vancouver/startup-weekend/6801
