Alongside previous duties, being the main point of contact for beneficiaries and service users such as oncology staff, social workers and support staff of children with cancer. Impact measurement through family feedback and follow-up. Updating the charity's policies and procedures, writing job adverts and enrolling new staff ensuring the correct DBS checks are in place. Writing website content and informative literature for childhood cancer magazines. Coordinating and assessing bike and trike applications, placing orders and communicating with suppliers. Monitoring and reporting sales in our chain of Charity Bike Shops among other general opertional duties.
Liaising with national paediatric oncology centres to generate awareness of the charity’s services of providing bikes, trikes and tandems to children and young people living with and beyond cancer. Working one-to-one with children and their families to provide information and assistance to access support services. Attending and presenting at family information days to children with cancer, their parents and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, promoting the benefits of physical activity and providing exercise advice.
Creating compelling holidays for blind and visually impaired travellers. This included researching destinations, creating itineraries, identifying and building relationships with international suppliers, establishing T&Cs and negotiating costs and quotations. Providing excellent customer management at all levels was also an essential part of the role, in particular; collating and maintaining customer information, responding to enquiries, taking bookings and payments, managing customer accounts, updating and analysing customer information.
Planning and delivering practical sessions for Introduction to Sport Exercise Psychology to undergraduate students on the topics of attention, concentration and motivation. Facilitating group work and communicating at the correct level to ensure students understood the content of the seminar. Exploring different ways of presenting information to engage students, support different types of learning and encourage them to contribute to the sessions.
