As Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at TEAL Mobility, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Air Liquide, I lead the commercial rollout of Europe’s hydrogen refuelling network for heavy-duty trucks. My focus is on business development, marketing, strategic partnerships, and public affairs — driving the transition toward zero-emission transport across Europe. With over 25 years of experience in hydrogen, renewable energy, and sustainability, I combine technical expertise with strategic leadership. After completing an MSc in Civil & Mining Engineering at RWTH Aachen University and a PhD in Environmental & Process Systems Engineering at the University of Cape Town, I began my career at TotalEnergies Deutschland as project engineer for hydrogen refuelling stations. I later held several international roles, including at TotalEnergies’ headquarters in Paris, contributing to the creation of H2 Mobility Germany and the acquisition of PitPoint Clean Fuels, a Netherlands-based company active in alternative fuels. I am passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship in clean mobility, hydrogen, electric vehicles (EVs), and renewable energy infrastructure. Having grown up as a German in Belgium, I value cultural diversity and international collaboration. Outside of work, I channel my creativity into music and guitar projects, including Grasscutters, a band I co-founded in the 1990s.
TEAL Mobility is a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Air Liquide, created in 2024 to accelerate the decarbonisation of heavy-duty transport. As Chief Commercial Officer, I lead the commercial rollout of Europe’s hydrogen refuelling network for trucks — developing strategic partnerships, overseeing business development and marketing, and advancing the company’s presence across the EU’s key logistics corridors. My work focuses on expanding TEAL’s footprint across France, Germany, Benelux and beyond, building scalable models for clean mobility infrastructure, and turning strategic vision into commercial success. Representing TEAL Mobility in leading European hydrogen and mobility alliances, including Hydrogen Europe, H₂Accelerate, France Hydrogène, and the German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (DWV).
Led European business development activities for hydrogen mobility, shaping TotalEnergies’ network strategy for heavy-duty transport. Developed commercial partnerships and growth initiatives across France, Germany, and Benelux to support the company’s shift to zero-emission transport solutions. Collaborated with industry and public stakeholders to accelerate hydrogen infrastructure deployment across Europe.
Defined the commercial and innovation strategy for TotalEnergies’ European alternative-fuels business (hydrogen, bio-CNG, bio-LNG). Managed the integration of PitPoint Clean Fuels into the TotalEnergies group, positioning it as a leading European player in clean-mobility infrastructure. Oversaw marketing, product development, and strategic partnerships expanding the group’s sustainable-mobility footprint.
Directed corporate strategy, innovation, and public-affairs activities for one of Western Europe’s leading clean-fuel infrastructure developers. Guided growth across hydrogen, natural-gas, and electric-mobility segments prior to integration into TotalEnergies. Strengthened the company’s position as a trusted partner for municipalities and logistics operators in sustainable transport.
Developed and implemented TotalEnergies' European strategy on alternative fuels, including natural gas for vehicles (NGV), e-mobility, and hydrogen. Led growth initiatives with group affiliates in France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. - Supported the acquisition of PitPoint BV (Netherlands) and the foundation of H₂ Mobility Germany with Daimler, Linde, Air Liquide, Shell, and OMV. - Represented TotalEnergies in international energy and transport policy forums (e.g. NGVA Europe).
Managed carbon-capture, biofuels, and life-cycle assessment (LCA) projects for industrial and international partnerships, including initiatives in China and the USA. Developed methodologies for biofuel certification and LCA to align with emerging sustainability standards.
Planned and implemented hydrogen refuelling infrastructure for fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). Coordinated national and EU-level grant programs with vehicle OEMs and public stakeholders supporting early hydrogen deployment.
Consultancy work for UNEP on sustainable-energy and waste-management policies for Sub-Saharan Africa. Contributed to the Policy Framework for an Integrated Waste Management Plan for the City of Maseru (Lesotho).
