2008 Oversaw all aspects of VMworld 2006 (7,000 attendees), VMworld 2007 (10,000 attendees) and VMworld 2008 (13,000 attendees). Determined event size; defined specifications and purpose. Developed and managed project plans with multi-million dollar budgets. Organized and directed site selection; managed design and implementation of registration tracking system; located and negotiated housing, food and beverage service. Led vendor selection for new registration application in 2008; determined specifications for RFP, reviewed responses, interviewed vendors and selected provider. Managed cross-functional teams to support and deliver programs, including marketing, sales engineers, vendors and event planning agency. Coordinated contract review and sign-off with agency and company legal department. Event Manger 2003-2006 Managed and coordinated company booth for first VMworld in 2004 (1,600 attendees). Coordinated efforts between corporate Marketing and event planning agency. Recruited to manage 2005 VMworld; attendance doubled year-over-year from 2004 to 2006. Managed approximately 20 trade shows with annual budget of $600k, including analyst events. Created and managed budgets, staffed teams, oversaw development and delivery of demos, coordinated booth set-up, staffing and scheduling. Selected and sourced vendor for new trade show booth; coordinated and collaborated with Marcom team, creative director and vendor to ensure design, branding and all marketing collateral conformed to corporate standards. Interviewed and hired event coordinator and technical demo manager to oversee trade shows. Selected and sourced new event management company. Researched, developed specifications and wrote RFP; interviewed candidates and selected new agency to support anticipated event growth.
