As General Manager for the Bremen and Hamburg region, I oversee the overall business performance and strategic development across both locations, with full P&L responsibility. I was responsible for the operational leadership of all German sites within the Aerospace Operating Unit, including full P&L responsibility (approx. €150M revenue p.a.). As part of the executive management team, I drove strategic development and continuous improvement across all locations. I led large, cross-functional teams (up to 350 employees) and managed complex transformation initiatives, including the closure and transition of the largest German site in Varel. As Plant Manager, I held full operational responsibility for a major aerospace service site, including full P&L responsibility (approx. €125M revenue p.a.). I led up to 250 employees and drove the strategic and operational development of the site. Key focus areas included restructuring the organization, stabilizing performance (especially on-time delivery), expanding new business, and transforming the business model towards higher-margin small-batch operations. I also implemented Lean and 6S principles, introduced a Manufacturing Execution System, and led multiple Six Sigma initiatives.
I led the production organization of a machining operation with full responsibility for operational performance and continuous improvement. In addition, I acted as Deputy Plant Manager. I was responsible for a business volume of approx. €100M and successfully improved EBIT from 10% to 17% within a short period. I led a team of up to 60 employees and focused on production turnaround, significantly improving efficiency, output, and customer satisfaction while reducing absenteeism and strengthening team capabilities.
Led turnkey automotive body shop projects (up to $8M) with full responsibility for planning, execution, and customer management. Acted as the primary commercial and technical interface (“CEO of the project”). Managed cross-functional and international teams (up to 40 people) and supported business development in a dual Sales Manager role. Delivered complex projects for major OEMs including GM, BMW, and Tesla, and drove successful cross-cultural collaboration between US and German teams.
