Dr. Christian Schneider is a Managing Partner of three active Venture Capital funds and has been a VC executive for the past 25 years. As a hands-on person, he has extensive product development, investment, HR, finance, and corporate governance experience in start-up companies of all stages across multiple technologies, including dual-use applications. He supports and advices a number of start-up companies in which he has a shareholder stake as a very active board member. His prior positions include R&D at Boehringer Mannheim / Roche (Germany, 1992-1995) and business development and corporate VC at Centocor (Pennsylvania, 1995-2000, sold to Johnson&Johnson for USD 5B in 1999) which provide him with a strong corporate background and experience. As a Managing Partner of two funds with venture capital firm PolyTechnos (Germany 2001-2008) and three funds with venture capital firm Vesalius Biocapital (2008 - today) he was responsible for a portfolio of over 70 investments and served on multiple boards. Since 2022, in collaboration with US defence venture capital firm Decisive Point, he made a number of early-stage investments in dual-use defence & security technologies and serves on the board of Vizgard. Dr. Schneider served as a Lieutenant in a special forces unit (Mountain Engineers) in the 1. German Mountain Division, holds a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine and a PhD, both from the University of Munich, as well as an MBA from Penn State University, Pennsylvania.
