Project coordinator for mining specific projects.
The intern program spanned over three different copper-cobalt mines in the Katanga province. A main project was conducted to find and mitigate sources of dilution. The sources were located by working through all steps pertaining to grade control. One aspect of the project was concerned about comparing lab to XRF scanned results to see the effect it had on the grade control model. A part of the intern program was conducted with exploration, with focus on geological modelling, diamond core drilling, core logging and trenching.
I worked as an engineering intern in a marble quarry. The main project was a trade-off study to compare alternative methods of ore transport. I also worked to improve the state of the core drilling storage facility and for setting up procedures for preventive maintenance on the conveyors. I was able to use my communication skills to effectively cooperate with contractors and suppliers to successfully complete the projects.
Worked with the survey crew in a large open pit gold mine, where the main work tasks consisted of; sampling, updating maps, surveying and kriging. A project was performed to ascertain new mineralogical data on stockpiles. Data was collected by using a sampling grid, a Trimble GPS unit to survey coordinates, and OneMine software to run an updated analysis of the stockpiles.
