About

Lineage of disease, pathogens causing disease and micro-environments causing disease in a non-pathogenic situation. Connection between Eye and Brain Diseases, Small Cumulative Head Injuries into Full Blown TBIs and Complex Mental Disorders.

Experience

  • Professor at Small Business Development and Management Institute/Southern University at New Orleans
    Jan 2014 - Present · 12 yrs 6 mos

Teacher-Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, Physiology, Human Diseases and Immunology. Redefining disease as a lineage factor: Immunity and immune response are parts of the complex interactions of pathogenesis. However, physiological alertness and adaptability defines and shapes human response to exposure and this 'heightened state' could be heritable. Thus, in infectious inflammation and non-infectious inflammation, the former is triggered by the presence of a pathogen and the latter is triggered by micro-environments which induce similar response to an individual's excitable state and can result in full blown disease state without the presence of the pathogen. Micro-environments and pathogens are excitable inducers which can produce same or similar disease symptoms. Study of how viruses and bacteria-herpes simplex virus, adenovirus, MRSA etc invade human cells/tissue and cause pathogenesis. Drug delivery to posterior part of eye-use of nanoparticles in drug delivery; across blood-brain barrier-use of specialized antibodies and microcoil magnetic field technology. Testing of reformulated and new formulation of drugs on animal models for treatment of diseases- eye-herpetic stromal keratitis and neuronal-including Alzheimer's disease (AD). Development of anti-cancer isoflavones. Evaluation of Gene expression in disease conditions for identification of critical genes important in pathogenesis. Development of animal new models for diseases. We are closely studying inflammation, neovascularization, angiogenesis and molecules with signaling properties and their roles in infectious diseases and noninfectious conditions including traumatic brain injury (TBIs), dementia and AD. responses. R & D in testing small molecules and reformulations for ophthalmic, brain diseases, tumors and infectious diseases. Use of human cells/tissues to research the prevalence of herpesvirus (HSV) disease, EKC, retroviruses and facilitation of HIV by HSV.
