In 2004, I started as a broadcasting and agricultural meteorologist at a private weather service. In 2008, time felt right for a change, and so I left for the booming commodity trading sector and became a trade floor meteorologist. I established meteorological support, products and services almost from scratch for continental Europe. Looking back at more than 15 years of experience in the energy trading sector by now and leading the meteorology team at one of Europe's large utilities. Strong synoptic and analytical skills, with a passion for applied, unconventional research on medium- and long-range weather forecasting for commodity trading as well as data handling, assimilation and programming of tools. Broad, robust background in natural (earth) science from a diploma in Landscape Ecology from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster/Germany.
