Chris is a Welsh Tech Geek, Cloud Advocate, Musical Theatre Enthusiast and Improving Improviser! He is the host and producer of the Blog, Podcast and Vlogging platform - Cloud With Chris. He is enthusiastic about using technology to empower people and organisations. His current areas of interest include DevOps, Cloud Native Applications and modernising applications for cloud. Chris brings an array of experience from the Services industry in Technology Consulting and Service Delivery. Most recently, he has built up the DevOps and Architecture practices for the FastTrack for Azure team. He has a wealth of experience working with clients across industries across the UK and Europe. He possesses excellent relationship management skills; experienced in partnering with customers to understand their business and IT strategies and building credibility to become a trusted advisor. A keen problem solver - he is experienced in several languages including R, Ruby on Rails, Java, C, C# Visual Basic, SQL, Objective C, PHP HTML, CSS and JavaScript/AJAX. From an Azure perspective, Chris has focused on several areas including GitHub, Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure App Service, API Management and other related technologies. He is a quick learner, and can build upon past experiences to make further impact.

- Partner with the VP of Developer Relations and the DevRel Leadership team to drive the Rhythm of Business - Owns DevRel's core 'fundamentals' including security findings, maintaining compliant services for DevRel's teams to scale - Owns the scalable content program, partnering with teams across DevRel and GitHub to have a central location and seamless processes for samples, walkthroughs and hackathon content. - Owned and published the product launch videos for several of GitHub's key ships, including Copilot Workspace, GitHub Models, GitHub Spark and others. - Exec Keynote Support for GitHub Universe 2024 Day 2 Keynote - 2x GitHub Universe 2024 breakout sessions (Hands on with Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet in GitHub Copilot AND How GitHub Next took Copilot Workspace from concept to code) - Drove the content strategy for GitHub Central; GitHub's primary booth presence at GitHub Universe Day 2024
- Led a team of advocates across APAC and EMEA. Empowered the team to drive new initiatives (including new regular video series), and building deeper relationships with revenue teams, leading to further initiatives. - Partnered with revenue teams to understand needs across customer accounts, and prioritise new content (videos, blogs, etc.) to support ongoing discussions - Advocated for GitHub's presence at on-site customer events with customers' internal developer communities - Hosted several GitHub Galaxy events across EMEA; Owned core aspects of the program (including keynote and exec support) - Several talks across enterprise/community conferences, and meet-up group events.

Part of the Azure Customer Experience organisation under Microsoft's Azure Engineering team CLOUD ADVOCATE Regularly involved in initiatives that benefit the wider cloud community - Written numerous Azure Docs and Azure Architecture Center articles; Committed several Pull Request samples for the Azure GitHub Actions; Led customers through architectural sessions at several Microsoft conferences; jointly initiated a video series “Azure Mythbusters” alongside Microsoft UK; Kubernetes upskilling sessions across a variety of regional teams. DEVOPS PRACTICE LEAD Responsible for setting DevOps strategy within FastTrack for Azure to drive additional customer adoption. Executed on strategy by leading several cross-organisation initiatives, and co-ordinating a team of engineers that partner with and drive product improvements in GitHub and Azure Product Groups that focus on DevOps and developer focused tooling. Personally established several Product Group relationships with Engineering Directors & Principal PM/Engineering managers, driving actionable product feedback which have been incorporated across various Azure products. PROGRAM & REGION LAUNCH & EVANGELISM Presented at the Microsoft Inspire conference, engaging with Microsoft partners in a number of breakout and interactive sessions. Formed core part of “Rest of World” team to launch Australia, UK and Western Europe regions. COACH AND MENTOR Acted as a coach and mentor to several members in the team. Focusing on topics from technical development; architectural upskilling and career development. CUSTOMER ADVOCACY Accelerate customer adoption and migration to cloud based technologies on Microsoft Azure Engaging with numerous FastTrack customers and their partners, to ensure that recommended practices are being implemented, with strong architectural guidance, with an aim of minimising risk in customer solutions.
Part of the UK Premier Support for Developers team. Key accountability areas include; TECHNICAL DELIVERY Supporting a number of customers in transforming their development approach; focusing on agile processes DevOps and effective use of tooling. Skills also focus around Azure Architecture & Development. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, AZURE SOLUTION ASSESSMENTS Developing an assessment framework into a formal global offering, and established formal feedback cycle with numerous corporate teams to feedback into documentation direction and cloud on-boarding. 25 customers have been involved in the pilot phase, resulting in over 300 recommendations; 50+ of which were critical. Presented to an internal Microsoft technical-focused conference on the framework and findings, with an average session rating of 4.62/5 and resounding positive feedback. DRIVING OPPORTUNITY PIPELINE Leading pre-sales of the Premier Support for Developers offering for Microsoft UK's Small and Mid-Sized customer and partner base. Responsibilities range from internal awareness of the offering, through to customer-based scoping of deals and forming proposals. MENTORING AND COACHING Supporting a number of individuals who are early in their career. Discussion topics range from personal and career development, through to coaching on role specific scenarios
Feb 2013 - Feb 2014, Summit Coordinator Feb 2011 - Feb 2012, IT Coordinator Oct 2010 - Feb 2011, Deputy IT Coordinator The Summit is one of the largest student-run academic conferences in Europe: set out from the rest by world-renowned figures, engaging debates and educational workshops touching on a range of global issues, including politics, development, finance and psychology. Annually, it accommodates students from universities across the world, ranging from Massachusetts to Moscow and Beijing to Bombay and welcomes speakers from Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Initially tasked with the creation of the Parish's website, having been a member of the Parish Advisory Council for a number of years. The website has recently been rebranded with a clean design and a new logo, embracing a professional feel. The website back-end has been developed through Ruby on Rails. As a result of the redesign, the website is much simpler to manage, due to an intuitive user interface. The content itself is entirely managed by members of the Parish.
