As a social science researcher, I have a strong body of analytic work and leadership among a variety of qualitative and quantitative projects for federal, state, and foundation clients in the health and education sphere. My quantitative work consists of survey design and testing, data collection, cleaning, analysis, and presentation of findings to project directors and clients for AHRQ, CMS, CDC, and NCES. I am skilled in both Stata and MPlus statistical programming. My qualitative work includes primary data collection and analysis through key informant interviews, cognitive interviewing, thematic analysis, and usability testing for education materials for AHRQ, CMS, PCORI, and the Baylor College of Medicine. As qualitative lead, I train junior staff in data collection and analysis, leads data analysis teams for AHRQ. For business development, I serve as a proposal manager, budget manager, and key writer for proposals for CMS, AHRQ, PCORI and other agencies under HHS. As a Research Associate within AIR’s Health Program, my work has involved evaluating qualitative data using NVIVO software and synthesizing results into written reports and summaries; analyzing, managing, and cleaning quantitative data in STATA; creating literature reviews of scholarly materials and distilling key points for usage in further analysis; creating interview protocols; managing participant recruitment; and conducting cognitive interviews with consumers.
• Recipient of the Freeman Fellowship for a month long study on health policy issues of food consumption in the Tokyo/Kansai regions of Japan • Conducted research through a variety of methods, including participant observation, open-ended interviews and quantitative analysis
• Reported on House and Senate hearings of concern to NCFC members on trade, agriculture and environment to executive staff. Led development of all reports on issues pertaining to the 3,000 local farmer cooperatives across the United States. • Conducted research and presented on the water shortage of the Lower Colorado River Basin; focused on climate change impact relative to unregulated population growth and power generation, national food prices, local economies and the environment.
• Reported on clean energy Congressional hearings and provided regular research reports on behalf of the firm’s attorneys and clients. • Researched bills under review in both houses of Congress through database resources, and compiled results for firm executives and senior policy advisors.
