I've watched founders do everything “right” and still stay stuck at 7-figures. The advice is always the same: “Delegate more.” “Build systems.” “Trust the team.” “Let go.” So you do. You hire smart people to own their slice of the business. Your CMO owns marketing. Your ops lead owns operations. Product owns product. Nobody owns how it all connects. Nobody but you. Then things break, like they always do, and you need to step in and fill the gap. This cycle is why most founder-led businesses get stuck between $2M-$10M. What's missing is a role. One that doesn't exist on any org chart. Someone who sees the whole system—the way you do—and sequences fixes in the right order. That's what a Growth Operator does. I've spent a decade doing this for founder-led internet businesses at exactly this stage. → Codie Sanchez (Contrarian Thinking): $2M → $10M in 12 months → Tucker Max (Scribe Media): $3M → $25M, acquired → Dan Martell (SaaS Academy): 70% cost cut, 1.5x revenue in 4 months I don't do 6-month engagements where nothing ships. I find what's actually broken, sequence the fixes, and embed with your team to build. Not in a deck. In your business. I fill the gap so you can finally step back—and when you do, nothing breaks. – If you're stuck at the 7-figure ceiling, DM me or visit christopherpiper.com/services Not ready to chat? I help founder-led businesses break through the 7-figure ceiling—the $2M–$10M range where you've hired smart people but you're still the glue holding everything together. I embed with your team for 90–180 days, find what's actually broken, sequence the fixes, and build the systems your company is missing. Not in a slide deck. In your business. I led the company’s transition from founder-led, personality-driven marketing to a product-led growth engine. Over 6 months, I rebuilt the marketing function from the ground up — launching a new GTM strategy, restructured the team, cut unnecessary spend and complexity, and filled the brand gap left by the founder with a clear, scalable positioning.
My role started in marketing to scale revenue, but quickly morphed into overseeing the merger of two companies, re-structuring every business unit including: operations, finance, people, analytics, tech, product, marketing, and sales. Key performance indicators: Revenue Growth: Scaled Contrarian Thinking to 8-figures in revenue within 12 months with a strategic roadmap to $50M+ leveraging owned media and paid channels. Leadership Progression: Rapidly advanced from Head of Marketing to CMO and COO gaining full P&L ownership and driving key executive decisions that bolstered growth and profitability. Product Revamp: Pared back the product offering from 16 separate products to 2 core courses and 2 communities to support higher membership, retention, and clear roadmap for customer ascension. Social Media Expansion: Developed the fastest-growing business and finance social channels growing the brand's audience to 10M+ fans and 1M+ newsletter subscribers. Mergers & Rebranding: Led the merger of two companies achieving cost efficiencies and eliminating redundancies while spearheading a complete rebrand to position Contrarian Thinking as a market leader. Product & Media Integration: Launched multiple new products, a top 50 podcast, and a #4 NYTimes best-selling book aligning media and business divisions to support cohesive growth across the brand.
As the first marketing hire, my role was to build and support the marketing team, where we directly drove the company's growth and revenue generation for all of Scribe's services and expansion efforts. Re-branded the company from Book in a Box to Scribe, scaled the company from offering 1 service to a dozen, 19 people to 110, and $2m in annual revenue to mid-8 figures through its acquisition. Key performance indicators: Revenue Scaling: Surpassed all revenue growth targets including achieving 55% YoY top-line growth in 2021, even amidst pandemic challenges Team Building: Recruited and developed a 12-member full-time marketing team creating world-class brand and revenue operations Market Disruption: Transformed the industry landscape by launching Scribe Book School establishing Scribe Media as the category leader generating millions in incremental revenue Executive Leadership: As a member of the 4-person Executive team, drove vision, innovation and execution through rapidly evolving market conditions all the way through to its acquisition in 2023.
