-Created a department continuing education certificate compliant with state and LEMSA regulations. -Plan, schedule, and oversee the instruction of department EMS trainings for which continuing education hours are being issued. -Issue continuing education certificates for any courses or trainings that cover material related to the field and/or practice of EMS. -Maintain records of all courses or trainings for which continuing education hours are being issued, including course rosters, tests/skills sign-offs, instructor evaluations, etc. -Ensure that all course or training objectives are met prior to issuing continuing education certificates. -Complete all requirements to maintain the department's status as an approved CE provider.
-Develop and/or oversee the development of EMS continuing education curriculum for all courses or trainings for which continuing education hours are being issued, including approving any curriculum developed by other department personnel. -Create or find appropriate audio/visual aids (powerpoint presentations, videos, handouts, etc.) for all EMS related courses or trainings. -Plan courses and trainings, including scheduling course times, breakdowns of lecture time vs skills practice/sign-offs and testing, and creating course outlines as appropriate. -Select appropriate instructors and skills evaluators as appropriate for courses or trainings. -Train any department personnel who will be functioning as an instructor, including reviewing the curriculum and evaluation/testing process, for the courses and trainings they will be instructing/assisting with. -Ensure that all courses and trainings have any needed facilities and clinically appropriate equipment available (Manikins, airway management equipment, moulage kits, etc.).
