I’m a highly experienced live TV producer - currently Deputy Editor of Lorraine Kelly’s BAFTA-nominated ITV show. Exceptionally skilled in all aspects of live production, I’ve been responsible for thousands of hours of popular television for over 20 years. I’ve a track record in agenda-setting content - covering news, entertainment and features - leading creative teams and working with some of the UK’s most loved talent.
Leading the daily production of Lorraine Kelly’s breakfast programme on ITV1 - overseeing running orders and scripts across 5 hours of live television each week - reaching 2.7 million viewers weekly. Responsible for hiring and managing Producers, APs and Researchers - building a creative and dynamic team that was nominated for a BAFTA in 2024. Shaping the editorial vision for the programme, reflecting the latest news and trends with understanding of audience demographics to drive ratings both on-air and online. Overseeing exclusives with agenda-setting guests including Sir Keir Starmer, Liam Payne’s girlfriend and Giovanni Pernice in the wake of the Strictly bullying scandal. Responsible for the live output of the show from the gallery with extensive experience of changing running orders and breaking news on air - handling everything from the Pope’s death to Downing Street resignations. Taking the lead on all ‘special’ editions of the show - from producing an entire programme inside Buckingham Palace to a surprise-filled episode celebrating Lorraine’s 40 Years in Broadcasting. Helped to shape Lorraine’s life-saving Change & Check and No Butts cancer campaigns which saw our charity singles top the charts and gain recognition from King Charles. Working with high-profile talent including Lorraine Kelly, Christine Lampard, Ranvir Singh, Kate Garraway, Joel Dommett and Cat Deeley. Produced a special weekend edition of Good Morning Britain in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth’s death - outputting ITV’s rolling news coverage as her coffin left Balmoral. Extensive knowledge of OFCOM / Legal / Duty of Care requirements. Working alongside the Editor and Production Manager to manage budgets, press campaigns and commercial tie-ins to further promote the programme brand. Part of ITV Daytime’s Senior Leadership Team and a member of the ITV Daytime Academy steering group - supporting the progression of junior members of staff.
Managed a Producer and Researcher to output 1-2 programmes per week - comprising fresh, daily content tailored to the Lorraine audience. Found and secured relevant stories/guests, wrote scripts, built running orders, commissioned VTs and graphics. Output the show from the gallery. Regularly crafted a wide variety of items including celebrity interviews, human interest stories, news reviews, health news, fashion demos, cooking, OBs etc. Produced some of the programme’s most high-profile editions: Birth of Prince George, Death of Nelson Mandela, Oscars.. Chosen to produce a pre-recorded special with Lorraine in New York: ‘9/11 Ten Years On’. Chosen to produce the inaugural Lorraine High Street Fashion Awards.
Produced Lorraine Kelly’s surprise 50th birthday special hosted by Paul O’Grady. Produced special editions of LK Today entirely on location - live broadcasts from Coronation Street and Emmerdale plus London Fashion Week and even a viewer’s house in Win LK For A Day. Produced GMTV’s 6-7am Newshour with John Stapleton and Penny Smith.
Produced a wide range of studio items - pitching and sourcing guests for the show. Produced/directed a large weekly OB for a ‘Monday Miracle Makeover’ series with multiple live hits. Produced/directed various VT strands including ‘Ruth Badger Unleashed’ - featuring the Apprentice star helping home entrepreneurs. Planned and produced various week-long strands: Celebrity School Days, Christmas Cheats with Claire Sweeney, Lorraine’s Christmas Crackers, Facing Up To Fertility, Celeb Chefs Top Tips, Lady Killers etc. Live edition of LK Today from the EastEnders set.
Wrote briefs, scripts and self-edited material for the daily show. Produced Ben Shephard and Jenni Falconer at various red carpet premieres and showbiz junkets for GMTV’s Friday programme, Entertainment Today. Inch Loss Island - a whole week of live broadcasts with Kate Garraway and viewers on Burgh Island in Devon. Travelled the UK with Richard Arnold broadcasting from a different city each morning during GMTV’s annual Get Up and Give appeal. LK in LA - chosen to be part of a small team who filmed four special programmes with Lorraine Kelly on location in Los Angeles.
