I am an experienced senior leader in digital and IT services, currently Head of Business & Digital Systems at Cambridgeshire County Council. With nearly 30 years in public sector IT and over eight years in senior leadership, I specialise in driving digital transformation, strategic planning, and service improvement across complex organisations. My career spans major initiatives such as coupling and decoupling digital services across two local authorities, implementing cloud-first strategies, and on the implementation of automation and AI. I have successfully unified teams, embedded ITIL principles, and bred a collaborative, one-team culture that delivers high-quality services to several thousand colleagues and partners. I am passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, having led pilots for cutting-edge solutions in Social Care, and championed the adoption of Microsoft Copilot across the authority. My approach combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to public service values, including equality, diversity, and inclusion, and supporting Net Zero ambitions. Key achievements include: Leading the migration from on-premise to cloud storage, making CCC one of the UK’s first all-cloud local authorities. Delivering significant cost savings, such as rationalising licencing and contracts. Preparing CCC for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) through strategic planning, contract management, and technical readiness. Building strong relationships with colleagues and technology partners to influence outcomes and drive digital innovation. Developing and implementing robust service management frameworks, ensuring transparency, accountability, and operational excellence. I thrive on solving complex challenges, empowering teams, and aligning digital strategies with organisational priorities. My leadership style is collaborative, supportive, and focused on delivering real value for residents and colleagues.
