Member of the Council’s corporate senior management board of Chief Executive and 6 directors for one of the UK’s largest and leading local authorities, upgraded from "Good" to “4-Star” status by the Audit Commission whilst in post. Director responsible for strategic planning, transportation, waste, economic development, countryside and trading standards and for the wider “sustainability” agenda. These comprised 730 staff (61 teams in 16 locations) in total and a revenue budget of £140m.
Was the MTRC’s head of planning and its senior executive primarily responsible for integrating the expanding railway into the fabric and life of the city. Member of the corporate senior management team and its Property Board. Represented MTRC on Government strategic steering groups integrating transport and urban development. Leading cross-sectoral teams (internal, consultant etc) in all aspects. Responsible for initiating and managing all development and planning studies for MTRC’s very large scale integrated railway related property schemes and taking these up to tender readiness.
