Significantly reduced plant shutdown duration by optimizing the sequence of execution and allowing for parallel activities, providing an additional 8 production days per year. Responsible for 25 person maintenance department consisting of technicians and engineering personnel, supporting all manufacturing systems for production of generic pharmaceuticals, including preparation, filling and packaging.
Managed strategic planning, engineering and construction of a $4M FDA compliant facility expansion and production improvement program.
Instituted lean manufacturing for two product lines reducing WIP by 70%. Managed strategic planning, operations, financial performance, and budgets for ancillary medical device products transitioning from R&D to production status. Directed a team of engineers, technicians, and operators responsible for developing products and processes to achieve capacity and cost targets.
Researched new manufacturing process, resulting in installation of the facility’s first integrated die placement, wire bonding and encapsulation line for manufacturing of automotive pressure sensors. Defined and implemented improvement plans and provided leadership to engineering, technicians, and production team leaders to meet efficiency, yield and quality improvement goals for a $130M facility.
