I spent the formative years of my career establishing the base fundamentals of the HVAC and Mechanical Building Services design elements within the construction industry, including all technical mechanical design, theorems, calculations, regulatory standards and compliance, designer risk analysis, reports, specifications, schedules, drawings, practical on-site construction and project management experience. This was supplemented by technical and professional qualifications gained in both Building Services Design and Project Management. Having gained both the technical design expertise and practical experience within Mechanical Building Services I began to broaden and focus my skill base, specifically focusing within the life sciences sector, pharmaceutical, laboratories, hospitals, universities, food, fragrance, transportation, airport, and commercial/retail sectors. During my career I have been responsible for the design delivery, procurement, and project management of a number of many varied projects within the UK, Ireland, USA, Western Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Iceland, and Asia. I have acquired over 40 years of experience in the compliant design of cGMP pharmaceutical and various sophisticated life sciences and cleanroom facilities, from initial feasibility/concept stages/Basis of Design, through to scheme design, detail design, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, validation and handover. Responsible for the delivery of specific HVAC Building Services and Mechanical Design including, but not limited to: - o HVAC Supply, Return, and Extract Air Systems (cGMP ISO 5, 7 & 8, CNC, and Unclassified) o Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Systems. o Mechanical design systems including Low Pressure Hot Water Heating, Chilled Water Cooling, DX Refrigeration, Steam, Heating, Air Source Heat Pumps, Compressed Air, Above Ground Drainage, Process Specific Containment Solutions. Process Water Design Systems (USP/Purified Water & WFI). o Energy Heat Recovery Systems. o Bio Safety Levels BSL1, 2, & 3 Laboratory Design. o Integration/Interface of specific process and pharmaceutical equipment. o Sprinkler Fire Protection o Gas Suppression Systems. o Automation design including BMS/FMS/EMS controls and instrumentation. o Current sustainability and energy sectors for both new and existing facilities. I am computer literate in Microsoft Word/Excel/Project/PowerPoint/Hevacomp, and AutoCAD.
