Taken onto full-time employment after 1 year of providing contracted project management services. Management of the construction of the fitout of the MBA award-winning Dept of Sport & Recreation offices, the National Hearing Centre, the new Zara store in the Murray Street Mall in Perth, and the Australian Hearing Centre. Oversight over the design and construct contracts for new maintenance facilities for the Pilbara Ports Authority in Port Hedland, and Automotive Holdings in Newman. Project managed the construction of MBA award-winning NRAS housing developments in Ord and Nichols Streets in Geraldton. Managed the alterations to the St John of God Hospital operating theatres and the Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Services buildings. Oversaw extensive award-winning heritage restoration works to the St Francis Xavier Catholic Cathedral.
Provided pre- and post-contract project services to the construction industry in the Midwest region which included construction concept design costing consultancy services to the Geraldton Fisherman’s Co-operative for the construction of a new boat painting shed, and providing superintendency, local representation and project management consultancy services to AECOM Australia on various projects in the area. This included the Greenough Prison Waste Water Testing, the Deepdale North Sub-division, the Greenough Prison Heat Exchanger Upgrade and the Waggrakine Sewer Study. Seconded full-time to Crothers Construction for a year as a construction project manager before being employed full time by them. Managed the $200K fitout of the Dept of Sport and Recreation offices, the construction of the $2 million Geraldton Esplanade and the construction of new facilities at the Geraldton Residential College worth $2.5 million. Liaised with the client’s management and professional teams, responsible for contract programming, planning and resourcing, financial control, procurement, and the co-ordination and management of sub-contractors.
Secured in excess of $1 million in consultancy commissions for the office to maintain a consistent backlog of work for the office staff. Project managed the civil design development of Stage 2 of the Batavia Coast Marina sub-division development for Landcorp. Acted as Superintendents Representative on the upgrade of the Fire Services to the Durack Institute of Technology. Primary client liaison for the Midwest region of WA. Established a progress reporting system for the office to senior management. Promoted to manage the office within 3 months of joining AECOM as Principal Project Manager.
Construction Director on the $8 billion Jumeirah Lakes Towers mixed use development comprising 86 supertowers, 25 multi-story carparks, 23 retail podiums, 4 lakes and associated infrastructure. Awarded GCC Project Manager of the Year in 2011 for role on the project. Managed own staff of 75 as well as over 100 site-based consultants. Oversight over the delivery of 7 primary and many secondary packages of work on the JLT project. Promoted 4 times in 4 years. Consolidated the company’s position on the JLT project through the Dubai property crisis to be consultant of choice, securing consistent contract extensions with the client. Project Director on the $250 million new printing production facility for Gulf News. Used extensively by F+G to meet and promote the company to potential new clients. Instrumental in securing significant new project and cost management commissions for the company. Played a leading role in the formulation of F+G’s PM+Navigator internal processes and procedures package.
