Between 2012 and 2023 Powerboatpix.com worked with the UIM Formula 2 Teams Association. During that time various strategies to improve their global media profile were introduced. The F2 Powerboat World Championship saw a huge increase in driver participation with at one time over forty UIM Super Licenses being issued. Grand Prix entry lists of more than twenty-eight racers travelling from all over the globe to compete in the UIM's most popular world series were a regular occurrence. This brought with it a much wider need for media support which Powerboatpix successfully supplied. Then in 2017, the United Kingdom Offshore Powerboat Racing Association (UKOPRA) was set-up and staged its first race in Poole, on the south coast of England during September of that year. Since then, it has acted as the governing body for offshore powerboat racing in the UK and has overseen championships in every season excluding 2020, which was affected by health restrictions. After ten years of working with the F2TA my attention switched to working with UKOPRA, initially shooting stills but more recently switching over to providing video productions which are shared on their YouTube and FaceBook page, including driver profiles and back stage coverage at their annual awards presentation. When the Chairman of UKOPRA set up a new website Powerboat.News.com it wasn't long before I became involved, initially writing previews for each round of the UIM E1 World Championship through my connections I had made with various racers who compete in that series.
The Powerboat Racing World website has covered all disciplines of the sport since 2016 and now it has a new owner in the shape of the Norwegian businessman Frode Sundsdal and The Race Factory. Located in Tønsberg, Norway, the media/event/race promotion company have produced the Tønsberg Boatrace since its inception and this event has now been recognised by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) the sport’s governing body, as a template on how race weekends should be promoted via social media. The Race Factory have specialists in event planning and promotion, social media, graphic design, and photography. They are the ‘One-Stop Shop’ when it comes to social media distribution.
My role at Fujitsu Limited, where I was part of the Defence & National Security Team, was working closely with the Ministry of Defence helping their estate wide roll out of their Windows 10 laptops and Mini Desktops. My role involved all aspects of IT trouble shooting over the phone for each of the armed services being supplied with this equipment. The MOD expected excellent attention to detail and excellent communication skills on a daily basis. Taking on average over forty calls a day and where possible my FTF rate never dropped below 92%. With my National Security Vetting set to M.O.D Security Clearance-Secret I often handled calls and emails of the most secure nature.
The Jessops Academy was set up by Peter Jones, with an aim to help people get the most out of their camera and it offered a range of photographic opportunities through a selection of Courses, Workshops, Experiences and Trips. With courses based around the country, we always made sure that the right trainer and support for the type of photography the client wanted to develop was available. We always made sure the client got the absolute best from their camera and provided them with the opportunities to both experience and develop their skills in different types of photography.
Whilst working with Powerboat GP I was responsible for their media releases and updating their website with both images and text.
