Porthus acquired by Descartes Systems Group Realisations: - Define standard installation procedures for our corporate datacenters (Brussels and Amsterdam) - Build up a new datacenter in Slovakia and The Netherlands - Reponsible for the architecture and implementation of the complete redundant basic infrastructure (UPS systems, airco units, fire detection, firewalls, networking, backup, monitoring, EMC² fiber channel storage, … ) - Define maintenance contracts for the datacenters - Implementation of a Network Operations Center (NOC) in Slovakia to provide 24/24h systems monitoring with a completely new team of operators - Define company standards of all IT-related infrastructure to obtain a heterogenious environment to simplify the maintenance and to reduce the TCO - Legato Networker backup and EMC² storage implementation (Clariion & Datadomain products) - Consolidation & Virtualization projects on Vmware hypervisor for over 400 hosts - Datacenter consolidations of several acquired companies in Europe to our main datacenters - Setup Legal archiving service based on EMC² Centera solution with synchronisation between different datacenters
Responsible for the production environment with an install base of about 700 servers (Windows and Unix/Linux environment) across all our datacenters (EMEA) Reponsible for all internal projects of the complete operational environment Setup Operations department as third line support People management (Job talks, exits, recruitment, …) The purchase of all IT-related infrastructure Advise architects and project leaders to setup a maintainable, solide and reliable infrastructure Capacity management, planning and reporting House keeping Work out Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan Quarterly report for the management board Member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) Order management – from the purchase and reception of the order until the final acceptance of the systems by the end-user / customer
