Manchester Area, United Kingdom
I am a journalist at BBC Sport, providing editorial support for TV production teams and creating compelling content across digital platforms. I also carry out high-quality research and written work across day-to-day output, primarily on football, as well as for major events and iconic programmes like Match of the Day, Final Score and Football Focus. Prior to that, I spent eight-and-a-half years at Reach plc, largely as regional syndication editor, responsible for licensing live and archive content from Reach’s large portfolio of regional news titles. Latterly I worked as a content editor, sourcing, editing and publishing breaking news stories for regional and national titles as part of the publisher’s Live News Network. Previously, I was a senior reporter at Mercury Press and Media, where I wrote stories and covered breaking news on the ground for the UK's national newspapers. As a trainee, I cut my teeth at the Lancashire Telegraph, a two-edition daily paper, where I was promoted to crime reporter after passing my NQJ senior examinations. I am a graduate of the BA (Honours) Journalism course at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, which is accredited by the NCTJ.
