About

I am a Special Education major at Ball State University with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environments for students of all abilities. Through my practicum experiences, I have gained hands-on skills in lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and classroom management while working directly with diverse learners. These opportunities have advanced my teaching abilities by helping me adapt lessons more effectively, increase student engagement, and foster positive relationships with students. Outside of my coursework, I am involved in both leadership and service roles. I currently serve as the Treasurer for Ball State Best Buddies, an international organization that promotes friendships and opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this leadership role, I have strengthened my organizational and communication skills, managed chapter finances, and helped plan events that bring our community together. In addition to my leadership role, I volunteer at Vernon, where I support individuals in an inclusive, community-focused environment. This experience has deepened my passion for advocacy and service while allowing me to apply my special education knowledge in real-world settings. I also work at a front desk on campus, where I have developed strong professional skills in communication, multitasking, and problem-solving that support my growth as an educator and leader. These experiences, from practicums to campus leadership, volunteering, and work, have given me a wide range of achievements, advancements, and improvements. I have grown as a teacher, leader, and advocate, consistently strengthening my ability to create classrooms and communities where all individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered. My goal is to continue developing as a special educator who inspires confidence, independence, and lifelong learning in every student.
